Evaluation
In November 2004 C-Change commissioned an independent evaluation from the Five Dimensions Evaluation Team. The evaluation report was called ALL MEANS ALL, below are some of the key findings from the evaluation.
- C-Change is an ethical and values-led organisation. It is concerned with embodying the values of inclusion in its practices and professes an 'all means all' ethic where no-one is rejected. Its intention is not to discriminate in any way.
- C-Change realises that it must find ways to involve people in decisions about their lives and take the lead from the person. "Working with" is seen as essential, as opposed to "doing to" the person.
- Sticking with people is a core theme for C-Change for Inclusion. This means doing what they say they will, when they make a commitment to be there for a person.
- They work in partnership with a variety of organisations to explore risks and find ways to manage complex risk related issues, whilst being mindful of their relationship with the person. By letting the person know what it is they are doing and why, and making sure the person doesn't see their actions as a rejection, whilst being as open and honest as they can be. Their work in this area has been commended by external partners.
- There is a general openness to information and advice and on the ground a high degree of satisfaction with training and the range of training available. This organisation does have a developmental emphasis in its work. Learning is applied and practice changes as a result.
