Ian's Story

Hi there!

My name is Ian and I have been receiving support from C-Change since 2003. I was brought up in the Partick area of Glasgow though spent many years in Lennox Castle Hospital where I was called a 'Patient' and lived in a 'Ward'. I now live in my own home in the Anniesland area of Glasgow.

I was very frustrated in Lennox Castle Hospital as felt very isolated from my community, friends and family though I am now happy with my own residence and keep active in my community. I have a voluntary job making pottery at a local charity called the Coach House Trust, my pottery gets sold in their local shop in Kelvinbridge.

I really enjoy playing snooker and meeting up with friends for a drink now and then. I am a very keen cyclist and cycle often using my recumbent bicycle.

I have a plan to start up my own business using my bike and a special trailer to uplift and then recycle different items people are disposing of in my local community. I was awarded some money for this through the C-Change Dragon's Den event. I will tell you more about this when I get my business up and running.

You can find out more about my story by watching a video about me located below.
